What Makes Your Competitor Laugh?

Ever receive something you didn’t expect and then realize that it might be better than what you asked for?  That just happened to me.

I have been working on a list of Top Questions people ask about improving innovation in their companies.  (I’ll post the list later).  For verification of my thoughts, I asked a couple of AI systems the same question for feedback.

At the end of Gemini’s response, it dropped a tip.  It told me to ask myself the following question to identify where to start:

“What are we currently doing that would make our competitors laugh if they saw how inefficient it was?”

And then I stopped.  Because I realized the beauty in this question.  It is bigger than just innovation.  You can ask this question about anything: marketing, manufacturing, logistics, sales, etc.  It just cuts through everything.

You know what else is amazing about this question?  Your team already knows the answer to it.  Go ask them.  They will tell you.

The real challenge?  Now you have to fix it!
